Engaging with current and potential readers is a rewarding and important part of being an author. I passionately believe in the power of escapism through reading and really enjoy promoting this to children through my author visits to schools.
At present, I offer several different author visit options – these can be tailored to schools studying WW2, the Titanic or the Victorians and I base them around either The Blitz Bus, The Titanic Tunnel or The Disappearing Diamond as appropriate.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss an author visit for your school.
In-person or Virtual Classroom Visit
These usually last between 40 minutes and an hour per class, and will follow a similar path to the below:
- Introduction
- Ways to structure a story
- Comparison of different methods of publishing a book
- A chapter from one of my books
- Question and answer session
I am happy to include a specific section on either WW2, Titanic or the Victorians as a bolt-on to the above if that fits with your curriculum.
Pre-recorded Virtual Visit
These are around 30 minutes long and cover the same topics as the live/virtual visit above. I take questions in advance for the pre-recorded sessions and answer them in the recording.
